We are family of four and all of us enjoyed this special opportunity to stay in one of this Korea Traditional Bukchon House for 2 nights. We booked a room with private toilet, it was clean and neat, and spacious enough to open our suitcases.
There’s minibus service that stops in front of the house, which takes you to and fro the nearest metro Anguk station. Otherwise it’s about 8mins walk to Anguk station from the house.
Gyeongbokgung is within walking distance from the house, there are many nice cafes and shops to visit on the way. The hosts are a pair of old couples who are very friendly and helpful. The can communicate in Mandarin and even teaches us some simple Korean languages!
They make us Kimbap and Korean Pancake as breakfast, which were very tasty!
This is very friendly place and strongly recommend to everyone!
We are a family of three adults staying in the family room. The room is spacious and comfortable. We were able to open all three of our suitcases and still have rooms to move around. The heated floor is very warm and made the room very cozy. A traditional Korean breakfast is included and all the ingredients are homemade by house mama. We stayed two nights and different dishes were served each morning. Both house mama and house papa are very friendly and hospitable. They taught us about Korean culture and the Korean alphabets even though there is language barrier (Google translate is your best friend). They also lent us hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) to wear and take pictures inside the guesthouse. They even pose with us and took pictures with us. Their hanbok are nicer and fancier than many of the ones we saw for rent on the streets. there is an option to rent the hanbok for visiting the palaces but we opted to just take pictures inside the guesthouse. Overall, we had an excellent experience staying at Bukchonmaru. The walk from the subway station is direct and easy and brightly lit at night. We would recommend Bukchonmaru to anyone looking for a cultural experience and some great homemade Korean breakfast.
One thing to note is that the guestrooms are on the upper level and there is no elevator. It took some lifting but we had no problem moving our three suitcases up the stairs and into the room.
Our stay at Bukchonmaru made our first visit to Seoul extra memorable

Super cute and clean traditional Korean house!!
I was a little bit afraid that I need to share the bathroom with stranger when I book my room. Turned out the bathroom is super clean and it is easy to keep it dry after shower. The duvet and mattress is even cleaner than most of the 3 stars hotel I had stayed!!
On top of all these, I love the grandma and grandpa from ben

the couple was really helpful though they did not speak much English. Our luggage arrived late, we had to call the airline. They really helped us a lot and were very friendly and nice people! The breakfast was authentic with vegetable from their own garden. The view over Seoul was quite impressive. The room was clean and large enough. They even brought extra pillows! I can just recommend it!

Owner and staff are very helpful and nice. Room is a bit small as well as washroom/bathroom!
