Reserved apartment for a weekend getaway. Travelled up from West Mids, got to the apartment an hour b4 check in to be told the room wont be ready till 4pm! And the business was under “new management” therefore the building had been made available as a gesture to me n my friends to honour the booking! Clearly a lie as other people were occupying the building aswell. Anyways Was offered a room to crash in whilst the “new owner” - and cleaners worked to get the apartment ready for us. Finally checked into the apartment at 3:30. Burn marks on the flooring and broken tiles in the bathroom. Toilet seat broken unusable...had to make do as was told this isnt getting fixed! Broken shower and hot water kept running out. Was offered a second apartment for sole use of bathroom facilities but room was under refurb..not ideal! Dirty towels and bed sheets...then at time if payment the owner tried to charge me more than the price I had been quoted bearing in mind I had made the booking last year! Tried saying its a new business n different rates however when told its not my problem im not paying any more as I have been quoted a price already he backed down n accepted the original price...heaters were all hanging off the wall...as were plug sockets. no breakfast hamper as promised at time of booking over dated milk in fridge. Not enuff dishes Corridor constantly smelt of weed and “new owner” was hard to get hold of...absolute joke and a nightmare of an experience. Would like to see new refurb
No breakfast, toilettries were provided. No key avialable on check in. A very pungent fragrence on the corridor. The mattress could do with changing and the cooker did not work, which because there were no pans and very little crockery. Situated in a really good place, even though the late night visit from the local constabulary was unexpected.

Firstly had the room cancelled because of a leak. So spent my day trying to sort out with Hotels.com to be told the room is sorted.
Got to the apartments there was no one at the desk. Called a number on the desk they said walk into the room and the key is on the table. Asked me to send a photo of my drivers licence as proof of identity. When we got into the room the first thing which we noticed was the smell (damp smell). The bed was on the floor frame was broken. I went to the bathroom but the door handle was broken we had no privacy. There was only one towel between the two of us which I was repulsed by (who would want to use a towel if someone else used it even if its your other half!). The cabinet handles were broken, the stove top was rusted over, kitchen utensils were so stained and old if I carried out swab testing i’m sure I would have come back with all 99.9% of bacteria/viruses disinfectant claims it kills.
Remove the blanket off the sofa and you’ll find a stained excuse of a sofa which I think they picked up from the side of the road. No batteries for the remote to Tv and a closet with no hangers.
I noticed I did not see an iron. I called the concierge service and was told I’d receive one in 15 mins. 40 mins had gone by with no sign of an iron. Called again was told to go into the next room and I’ll find one, I didn’t find one on my wild goose chase. So my husband called and told him that this is ridiculous, the guy literally hung up on him!
Smoke alarm wasn't present and beeped all night.
Cracked tiles and grout missing in bathroom. Lounge blinds broken. Two plug sockets broken and covered in gaffer tape.
