Staff at the front desk were nice and even let me check in early which was very much appreciated after a long two days of travel!! The massage I received in my room however was terrible, the masseuse was definitely not properly trained. I almost feel as though I felt worse after the massage than before - not worth the value. The bed linen had tiny little black hairs on the outside of the duvet, I didn’t want to look under because I needed sleep and didn’t want to think about it. The room was clean otherwise, and the amenities were nice — however I did see two roaches running about the room. One disappeared into a crack in the floor baseboard before I could kill it. Overall decent room for the rate. I would stay here again, just with different expectations. The food was good, but I had to go with my third choice because they were out of my first two requests.
clean, comfortable, great value
We liked the hotel it was very clean and reception staff good and polite, bed very comfortable and lovely shower. The restaurant and bars were awful as nobody could speak any English and the service was incredibly slow and incorrect and three out of four meals were served stone cold after another very long wait and very poor quality..

Really beautiful hotel. Clean and well appointed. Small room but comfortable. The service at the desk was great, the restaurant was a little less so. Possibly cultural but just tough to get much service and we aren’t aggressive type customers. We really were on a stopover before heading out on a boat trip for a week so did not explore the local area much. It was close to the port where our boat departed from which was handy!
Non-smoking room stank badly of smoke.
Superior rooms do not have a window (they confirmed that we knew this before checking us in) which makes that smoke stench harder to bare.
Rooftop bar/restaurant has a great view out over the city, ports and islands.

A group of 16 friends stayed one night here before jumping a dive boat for ten days. For Sorong, I think this is a good option; my impression is Sorong is NOT a tourist town. There are not many choices. The room was dark but comfortable enough for our short stay. Wifi worked fine. There is no A/C in the huge lobby nor on the roof top restaurant which is a problem since this is the two places to hang out. However, being roof-top, much of the area is open-air so you get a great view despite the heat. The sunset at the bar area was wonderful, overlooking the boats in the harbor. For lunch, however, the restaurant was extremely hot. We finally carried a fan over. There is no pool so again, if you want to get out of your room, you either go to the roof top area (hot!) or in the huge lobby area (also very warm). English was a little challenging at the restaurant staff but the reception desk was great. In fact my son lost his passport and they were great at returning it. Breakfast was included and there was an extensive buffet. American breakfast it is not. Think fish, rice, spicy chicken dishes and things I didn't recognize. For me, it was fine but be prepared. The website says that airport transfers can be prearranged for US$11 but I emailed twice and never got confirmation. We just caught a taxi at the airport which was easy to do and cost about the same.
