I thought the rooms were amazing . I also loved the alcove with the ivy outside . It made you feel like you were in a different country. The breakfast that was served was delicious and the staff was amazing . I was very upset. to hear they are adding another forty room Building in the parking lot . I have a feeling the hotel is going to lose its charm. Hoping it doesn't become another generic hotel

The hotel felt like a home, not a hotel. I wish I could have eaten the free breakfast, but I was eating with family before traveling back home.

We had a fantastic 2-night stay. Scarlett is a wonderful hostess, personable and does all she can to make sure guests feel welcome and appreciated.The A/C was fantastic as was the water pressure. Breakfast was so good and a great way to start the day. Happy hour included a delicious wine selection to start off your evening. I took off one star for comfort based on the bed mattress. We prefer something firmer. We will be back!

Absolutely awful. Do not recommend. I booked this property knowing it had mixed reviews. I like to support independent businesses, and while I was aware the rooms might be dark and a little noisy I was happy with this, on the expectation that the accommodation would have a little more character and charm. When I arrived at around 8pm, I went to take a shower. After running the water for a good 5 minutes, it was still cold. I popped out to inform reception, in the hope they could help. I was told I had to wait for the water to warm up; when I said I’d already been waiting a little while the receptionist said I should check out. While I thought this was odd, I wasn’t keen on staying somewhere where there was no hot water (especially at £280 per night) so I went to pack my bag and find alternative accommodation. When I returned to reception, I was asked if I had found an alternative accommodation, to which I replied I had. When I requested a refund for the accommodation, the receptionist began shouting and swearing at me. He took my key, not permitting me to stay in the hotel (not that I would have wanted to at that point) and also refused a refund. He also refused to call management when requested. Fortunately, the hotel has since refunded my money. Leaving a lone female traveller in this position is unsafe. Please do not stay here. There is much nicer accommodation available for a similar price.

Grand old hotel. Sorry to hear that they will be destroying the charm of the lace with their expansion.

Great breakfast , homemade every monring. Cookies before bed. Wine in the afternoon. Very friendly staff and helpful.
