Yurong West Lake Cottage Resort Hotel

The best part about our stay was Miss Rose. I had forgotten my passports in Shanghai, but I had pictures of them on my phone, She accompanied us to the local police department to get permission to stay without them. It worked! Her service was above and beyond. Other thant that, it was a lovely place right next to the lake with easy access to walking trails. Only down side was the food. It was not for westerners Latte machine didn't work and really no western food. But very easy access to the local bus system, which is great, and a lovely little neighborhood across the street. The little Halal restaurant down the street had AWESOME noodles for next to nothing.

WE needed to find a reasonable priced hotel with very short notice. This hotel is quant and clean. There is not many amenities in the room, and they staff does not know English.

This is a small resort type place with court yards and out door swings. There were only two floors and it was a quiet place to stay walking distance to the southwest(I think) of the Lake. A jumping restaurant was about a block away. Lots of local and young people eating there. There was no air conditioning but the weather cooperated and they had fans, big windows and cool breezes from the nearby lake. It was pretty with flowers, etc. Our room had both a tub and a shower and a comfy bed. You would need to take a boat or a bus to get to the "city" but the Lake was the best. Walking distance to garden where the G 20 conference. The breakfast wasn't huge but it was plenty and good. The girls at the desk had way more English than I had Chinese.

Overall it's a good place to stay at- comfortable bed, free breakfast with good spread, friendly staff and a bus stop conveniently located near the hotel. However, the unpleasant smell from toilet is too overwhelming.

Great relaxation place. Nice surrounding with natural woods, West lake, and buildings. Good breakfast and decent price. Nevertheless, friendly staff is always around.
