Stanley House

As others have said, they're is no staff to check guests in. There is a phone in the entrance to call. We were given the door code and our room key was in our allocated room. Stanley house is a relatively good medium sized property. However the rooms are very small. They are en suite at least. Our room came with a remote control that did not control the room TV. The TV in the living room did not have a working TV aerial point either. WiFi worked well and the large kitchen comes with self catering utensils to use. Cereals were also available in the larder. We had to call staff to advise the supplied milk had expired by several days. They came within minutes with a bottle of milk. Cleanliness was impressive, there were two lounges guests can use on the ground floor. Just be prepared to sink down into the sofa's which have VERY soft cushion seats. Beautiful gardens in the back and in the front one can see the tourist train going past. We would stay here again and happy to recommend

The house is very homely and has beautiful views and gardens. The room was very clean and cosy. Me and my boyfriend climbed scafel pike and it was only around a 30 minute drive to here which was perfect for us. Would stay again!

Black mould in the bedroom and bathroom and dusty cobwebs chest height in the bathroom and stained carpets. I left after seeing the room in day light, couldn’t stay a minute longer and had three days booked.

Place was clean and tidy, bed was very comfortable, shower was great! Very nice garden. Old house, not sure if the windows open and close properly, could do with cleaning the cobwebs off all the walls and ceiling and the bathrooms could use hooks/towel rails. Well stocked kitchen - everything you need is available! Would recommend if you're travelling with your dog and prefer self-catering. Overall happy with my stay, thank you!
