Amazing honeymoon destination, it was very relaxing, spacious island with many things to do. The Staff and our butler was AMAZING and helpful, everyone was very kind. I recommend especially if it’s your first time in the Maldives. I suggest you choose all inclusive option because meals are expensive if you were to pay per meal. You get your money’s worth for all inclusive..

Although we had a rocky start I wouldn't change much. The staff was extra friendly, food was exceptional, and the resort was well kept. I did feel like the management was a little short when faced with problems that I had I encounter.

General description

As per the amendments to the Tourism Act issued by the Maldivian Government, applicable to all travellers arriving in the Maldives from 1 January 2025, the green tax payable by travellers upon arrival at hotels (including tourist resorts, tourist hotels, hotels, tourist guest houses, tourist vessels) has been increased from USD 6.00 to USD 12.00 per person per day.
Travellers staying in tourist guesthouses and hotels on inhabited islands with 50 (fifty) rooms or less will pay USD 6.00 per person.

Kindly note that import of all vape products and individual parts of vape devices is to be made illegal from November 15, 2024, onwards. Additionally, the use, possession, production, sale, advertisement, and distribution of all vape products will be banned from December 15, 2024.

Travellers cannot bring cigarettes of any amount while arriving to the Maldives.
But they allow a packet (1 packet) which is used and in your hand. (Not a carton).

Following recent changes at Velana International Airport (VIA), kindly note the below arriving changes in Malé for seaplane check-in.

Effective immediately, all seaplane check-in operations (arrivals and departures) have been relocated to the New Terminal (T1). The previous seaplane counters at the old terminal (T2) have been discontinued, and we no longer have staff stationed at Resort Counter B7 in T2.

Our airport representatives will be waiting in front of the arrival gate, holding a board displaying "Sun Siyam Resorts.” If guests are unable to locate our representatives, they may proceed directly to Terminal 1 – Seaplane Check-in at Gate No.4

Please note that speedboat check-in procedures for Sun Siyam Olhuveli remain unchanged.
