Carry-on baggage (Hand carry bag)
This baggages are featured with limited weight and dimension and to be carried in with the passenger in the cabin in the overhead compartment.
It is the type of baggage that you will hand at the checked baggage counter to calculate its weight and dimension, then it will be stored in the cargo compartment after adding the label with all passenger information.
Infant baggage has its own policy, it differs from one airline to another, yet there are exceptions related to infant baggage weight.
Airlines set policies for the baggage with different sizes and shapes, differ in weight, and where to be stored either in the cabin or cargo compartment.

- International flights have different checked baggage allowances according to the destination, we recommend visiting IndiGo official website to know more.
- Flights under Vande Bharat Mission, the baggage allowance will 25kg (checked baggage) +7kg (hand baggage).
- For customers who have oversized items, they may carry it after receiving permission from IndiGo to purchase another seat for their extra items.

Infants Baggage
Passenger with infants can carry one hand bag up to 7 kgs and 115 cms on domestic and international flights. For contactless travel we recommend to place it under the seat in front, on board.
One stroller or baby pram per infant is allowed without any charge.
Excess baggage
IndiGo offers excess baggage purchase policy according to your destination. Pasengers can purchase pre-paid excess baggage up to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure.
Lost Baggage
Personal Items are only customer’s responsibility, if passengers leave baggage delivery area without reporting any loss or damage in baggage it will not be considered as IndiGo liability. For delayed baggage, you can track your baggage from this link.

Carry-on and checked baggage
- Compressed gases - deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable and poisonous such as butane oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders and compressed gas cylinders
- Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, mercury and wet cell batteries and apparatus containing mercury
- Explosives, munitions, fireworks and flares, ammunition including blank cartridges, handguns, fire works, pistol caps
- Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter refills, lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners, fire-lighters, lighters that need inverting before ignition, matches (these may be carried on the person), radioactive material, briefcases and attache case with installed alarm devices
- Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder and peroxides
- Poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides, weed-killers and live virus materials
- Anything that possesses and/or is capable of possessing and/or emitting a conspicuous and/or offensive odour
- Other dangerous articles such as magnetized materials, offensive or irritating materials

- Knives, scissors, Swiss army knives and other sharp instruments
- Toy replicas of fire arms and ammunition
- Weapons such as whips, nan-chakus, baton, or stun gun
- Electronic devices which cannot be switched off
