Historical Highlights:

  • In 1990: Aer Lingus, Silkar Investment and Net Holding partnered to establish Pegasus Airlines with a fleet of 2 aircraft. 
  • In 2005: Online seat selection, as well as Ekopark services, were introduced. Moreover, Pegasus Airlines expanded its network to include 6 domestic destinations. With a fleet of 14 aircraft, Pegasus Airlines chose Sabiha Gokcen Airport as its main hub. 
  • In 2006: Pegasus Airlines kicked off Pegasus cafe service. First scheduled flight took off to Stuttgart, then Izmir, Bodrum, Dalaman, Kayseri, Gaziantep, Malatya, Nicosia, and Vienna.
  • In 2007: The first aircraft of 40 Boeing 737-800s fleet arrived. More destinations were added; Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Munich, Copenhagen, London, and Zurich. Pegasus Airlines started selling travel insurance online and became the PWA Windsurf World Cup sponsor.
  • In 2008: Pegasus Airlines initiated an online car hire service. Furthermore, Pegasus Airlines partnered with HSBC Bank and introduced the Pegasus shopping card. Finally, flights to Samsun and Cologne started operating. 
  • In 2009: Flights to Konya, Athens, Basel, Brussels, Berlin, and Krasnodar were added to schedules.
  • Between 2006 and 2010: 8.6 million passengers flew on Pegasus Airlines, with an increase of 15% for domestic flights and 42% for international flights. Also, A new Boeing 737-800 was delivered. Additionally, Hatay, Paris, Marseilles, St Etienne/Lyon, Rome, Milan, Stockholm, Beirut, Tbilisi, and Kharkov were added to Pegasus Airlines network. 
  • In 2011: Pegasus Airlines was the first airline in the world to integrate Groundlink End-to-End Network Solutions System. The carrier also established a flight training center, putting Pegasus in the top 10% of companies with this advanced technology. Besides, 6 new aircraft arrived, and the Pegasus Airlines network reached a total of 49 destinations in 22 countries.
  • In 2012: Pegasus Airlines signed a $12 billion contract to buy 100 new Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft.
  • In 2013: The airline began trading 34.5% of the total shares on Borsa Istanbul, under the code 'PGSUS'.
  • In 2016: Pegasus Airlines adopted a new cabin simulator to prepare for any possible emergency.
